Founder, Star Product Design, LLC.

Andres brings over a decade of experience engineering medical devices, as well as a background in consumer electronics design, optics, and home electronics.  His projects have ranged from telescopes to ultrasound equipment to catheter and defibrillator design.  His training in the FDA’s Quality System Regulation and Design Controls allows him to advise clients on proper processes and procedures for optimum design success.  Andres completed his Bachelors in Engineering at Dartmouth College and his Masters in Engineering Management at the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Ivan heads many of the prime projects and brings a wealth of knowledge in the design of plastic housings with complex surfaces, overmolding, and the integration of electronics into consumer products, power tools, and instruments.  His prior experience at a German design firm brings a European sense of design, aesthetic and quality to his work.  He’s been instrumental not only in engineering design but also in properly documenting assembly procedures, handling change orders, and working within PDM and PLM systems.  He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Belgrade in Serbia.

Mechanical Engineer and Graphic Designer

Matt has been working at the firm for over two years.  In addition to being a great designer of sheetmetal parts, injection molded plastic parts, and complicated assemblies, he’s got a keen eye for what’s actually manufacturable in the real world.  This ensures a seamless transition between engineering and manufacturing, speeding the process of getting products to market.

Matt is also an excellent Graphic Designer, creating photo-realistic renderings for our clients’ marketing needs, as well as handling labeling and packaging projects.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art and Graphic Design from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and is working towards his Mechanical Engineering degree where he’s been a regular on the Dean’s list.

Medical Advisor

Dr. Sheehan helps us interpret our clients’ requirements and helps give us background to the medical application of our projects.  The context she provides helps us make the day-to-day decisions that impact the usability and performance of our designs.  Dr. Sheehan is a research cardiologist at the University of Washington, where she specializes in complex 3D modeling of the heart, using proprietary software tools developed under her leadership.  She holds several patents and has worked with numerous startup companies.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree from MIT and an M.D. degree from the University of Chicago.
